Beginner Level:

Our beginner lessons are based on the ABC lesson format as prescribed by the BSA (British Surfing Association) and SSA (Surfing South Africa).

They are designed for absolute beginners who have little or no experience in surfing. Anyone can try it and see results.

Lessons run for approximately 1 - 2 hours (depending on your personal fitness level).

You will be accompanied by an SSA qualified surf coach who will be with you every step of the way, ensuring that you get the most out of your surfing experience!

We place a great deal of emphasis on safety. All our equipment is in good condition and suitable for beginner and intermediate riders. Our coaches are trained in first aid and beach safety and are re-evaluated yearly so you can be sure that you are in good hands.

The best part about surfing is that it's just so much fun, so you're guaranteed to be stoked after your first wave!!

Intermediate Level:

We offer a number of intermediate programs designed at taking your surfing to the next level. learn4

Your coach will be on hand to take you through these steps and introduce you to the more technical aspects of surfing.

You will be taught how to paddle yourself out to the back, position yourself in the surf, catch and ride unbroken waves and how to perform basic manoeuvres such as bottoms turns and trimming.

We will also go through other surf related topics such as: the basics of wave and weather forecasting as well as etiquette in the water.

Lessons run for approximately 1 - 2 hours (depending on your personal fitness level) and will be conducted at a beach predetermined by your surf coach.

Accommodation:

learn3 We make use of various established Backpacker and Surf Camp venues along the South African Coast which have carefully selected based on the cleanliness and comfort of their facilities, as well as general atmosphere and charm to ensure that you have the most pleasant stay possible.

Our tours are priced at the dorm rate (usually 4-6 beds per room), however more private rooms can arranged should you prefer.

All accommodation is less than a 5 minute walk from the beach, although; at learn7 certain locations we may still travel a short distance by car to get to the beach with the best waves for the conditions on the day.

Transport:

All our vehicles are clean, comfortable and air-conditioned ensuring a pleasant journey while travelling between surf spots

DVD Documentary:

All our tours are accompanied by a videographer who will be there to capture and document the entire surf trip.

During the tour you have the added bonus of being able to watch your day's session in the evenings which is a great coaching tool you can use to improve your surfing while you travel.

At the end of the trip all the footage will be edited into a final DVD for you to take home and remember your African surfing experience.
